We are in the 21st century where people get addicted to drug abuse, Alcohol, Smoking, Mostly the youth and teens of nowadays. 80% of people are drugs abusers. People don't get the prescription from doctors. Even the people that get a proper prescription from the doctor still abuse it.

DEFINITION OF DRUG ABUSE

        Drug abuse is the excessive maladaptive, or addictive use of drugs for nonmedical purpose despite social, psychological, and physical problems that may arise from such. Also, drug abuse is the intake of overdose, or expired drugs without the doctor prescription. Examples of drugs abuse, cocaineTramolCannabis, Heroine, Tabacco. Most people find it fun when taking overdose, they don't know it damages the brain, and (immune system).

CAUSES OF DRUG ABUSE 

Here are some of the causes of drug abuse. 
  1. Frustration: The feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something.


   2. Peer Pressure: Is the influence wielded by people within the same social group. It is also the term used to describe the effect this influence has on a person to confirmed in order to be accepted by the group. often peers are thought of friends at the same age. Peer pressure is a strong factor in starting to use and misuse drugs, particularly for young people.


  3.Unhealthy home environment: Are those that threaten safety that undermine the creation of social ties, and that are conflictual, abusive, or violent. 


 4.Poor relationship with parent: When seeing parent abusing their selves the child will think it a good thing, and parent not able to put eyes on their children. Also, poor achievement in school. 





6. Genetics: Once you've started using a drug, the development into addiction may be influenced by inherited (genetics) traits, which may be delay or speed up by the disease progression.

7. Family history of addiction: Drug addiction is more common in some families and likely involves an increased risk based on genes. If you have a blood relative, such as a present or siblings, with alcohol or drug addiction, you're at greater risk of developing a drug addiction.

EFFECT OF DRUGS ABUSE 

 Here are some of the effects.

  1. Getting an infectious disease: People who are addicted to drugs are more likely to get an infectious disease, such as damage of the liver and kidney.
                                                  

2. Work Issues: Drug use can cause declining performance at work absenteeism and eventual loss of employment.

3. Our health: Can damage the brain, immune system, sometimes it lead to short-term damage of the brain and also lead to madness. Most youth out there are mad for the drugs they took, which damage the brain.

     
     4. Accidents: People who are addicted to drugs are more likely to drive or do other dangerous activities like raping, also they are uncontrollable, because they become stronger as they take the drugs. while under the influence. Also, Suicide mostly they die young.




WAYS IT CAN BE PREVENTED

  1. Strengthen the bond: Work on your relationship with your children. A strong, stable bond between you and your child will reduce your child risk of using or misusing drugs.

  2. Choose your circle of friends carefully: Choose the kind of friends you want to hang around or make, Also a friend who does not belong to any of the things. 

  3. Set a good example: Don't misuse alcohol or addictive drugs. Children whose parent misuse drugs are at greater risk of drug addiction.

  4. Always an agency which will be in charge of drugs: National drugs law enforcement agency (NDLEA). These are the people in charge of drug abuse, expired drugs, anyone caught with that will be sent to prison.

5. Listen: Be a good listener when your children talk about peer pressure and be supportive of their effort to resist it.
